Plasma systems

Cold atmospheric plasma can be produced as a safe gas stream, cool to the touch but highly active as a transformation medium. An exciting feature is that tailored plasmas can have strong antimicrobial and antifungal effects even on highly temperature sensitive materials such as nail fungus and the sterilisation of seeds.

New Coatings

Distributed assets are often exposed to environmental attack and the survivability of the coatings is a critical for low cost operations. Environmental and safety concerns are driving down the use of VOCs and isocyanates. This applies to the transport, utilities, power generation and built environment sectors. Gnosys have experience of designing low environmental impact coatings with advanced properties such as tolerance of wet application environments; water blocking capability; surface activity; resistance to degradation caused by water, chemical or mechanical wear.

Long-range aerial inspections

Network asset inspections by helicopter are expensive and carry significant risk. Inspections on foot are very time consuming.

UAVs (Unmanned aerial vehicles or drones) promise to reduce costs and increase safety by unmanned inspection of remote and distributed assets. Key to this is the ability to fly a drone safely "Beyond Visual Line of Sight" (BVLoS). Gnosys have developed this enabling technology with the Department of Transport and our partners.
